BFP on Valentine's day 02/14/13!!!

Yesterday was the best Valentine's day ever! I took an hpt at 4:30 am and after a less than a minute I saw only one line and thought to myself "just as I thought...bfn". I washed my hands and another couple minutes later I picked up the hpt to throw it in the trash and there it was..a faint second line!! BFP!!According to my fertility friend chart I was 13 dpo.  After 3 years of ttcing, a miscarriage in march 2010 and unsuccessful ivf cycles in 2011 and 2012, we got our miracle!  My husband and I are on cloud 9!! I made chocolate cheesecake cupcakes and stuck a note in one that read "We're pregnant!" Then we rushed to the immediate care and I got a beta test done and doctor confirmed I am pregnant! The doctor calles it a "spontaneous pregnancy".I was sooo excited my pressure was 138/90 which is very high for me. It is usually 100/65 or lower. I took another test on a digital and was so happy to see the words "pregnant"!!The fertility doctor said it was impossible to get pregnant without IVF. With God all things are possible!! Thank-you Jesus! We are leaving for Barbados on February 18th! Can't wait to tell our parents about our miracle!

BFN :(

I just cannot find the words..BFN :(  This was our last chance with my eggs since the Fertility specialist thinks our next option is donor egg which is not covered by insurance.

8 days after transfer

I had some red spotting this morning so I called my nurse. She said I may have to stop the baby aspirin if it gets worse.  She said it could just be irritation from the progesterone applicator. I was worried because last cycle I had this same spotting starting at 10dpt and it continued till day of negative beta. I am praying that because it is earlier, it could be implantation bleeding. It has stopped now and I hopefully doesnt resume. I had cramping the last 2 days and I thought this was a good sign.  I was getting through the 2 week wait quite patiently until today! Now I just wish the 26th of June would get here!

2 days After transfer

Transfer day was quite an emotional one.  I received a call early on the 14th from nurse to say they had moved up my transfer which was supposed to be at 10:30am to 8:30am.  Since I heard the urgency in her voice I asked how the embryos were doing.  All had stopped growing and dividing but ONE!! They transferred one 4-cell (poor quality) embryo. We at least had 2 last year but neither implanted. Yesterday I went to acupuncture and my doctor tried to cheer me up by saying it only takes one!  I am so heartbroken that we lost 4 embryos overnight. Praying for a miracle that this one in my uterus makes it!

Embryo growth(day before transfer) - Day 2

I went to acupuncture this morning.  It really helped me as I was feeling anxious about how our embryos are doing.  When I got home the nurse from Shady Grove phoned and said we have a  4-cell and the other two are 2-cell. (same as last year) She said the 3 cell might not make it as it was fragmented and the 1 cell was definately not going to make it. So we have 4 still hanging on, which is good because my Dr recommended transferring 4  tomorrow (day 3 transfer). Time for my transfer is 10:30 am.  I have my 1 liter of Fiji water and I am ready!! Hubby was disappointed because he was so hoping for blastocycsts and a 5 day transfer.  God is good and he knows how much we want to be parents. I have faith!! It only takes ONE good quality embryo to make a baby!!

Fertilization- day 1

Yesterday I had my egg retrieval. Doctor retrieved 11 eggs!! This is great as it is it one more than they got last year and my eggs are a year older so acupuncture must have helped!! It's funny, last year was on the 10th and got 10 eggs. This year on the 11th and got 11 eggs!
The nurse just phoned me and she had good news, we have 5 embryos, that fertilized! We only had 3 last year so we had a better result this time around :) Praying that they divide well. God is good.

IVF Cycle #2

After cancellations of ivf cycles because of suspicious mammogram and then a breast biopsy, we are back on track again. Ivf his time with acupuncture. Started lupron injections yesterday. Tomorrow I add follistem and menopur. So 4 injections total, 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening.  Acupuncture will hopefully keep Eric and I relaxed. I'm still doing the fertility yoga everyday. I have a good feeling this time.
