    1. Yes it has been such a difficult journey. Not sure if I am ready to get back on the crazy train though. Hugs!

  3. Chantal-I am a fellow infertility veteran. When I came across your blog, I was struck by some of the similarities in our journeys. I have been TTC for 6 years also, however have never had any spontaneous natural pregnancies. I have had 6 chemical pregnancies (first one was after IUI, and the other 5 have been with fresh and frozen transfers of donor egg embryos). We have also tried some of the embryos from the second donor egg cycle in two different gestational carriers. Out of those 4 transfers, we had 2 negatives, 1 chemical, and 1 MMC at 9weeks. I am now having a 6th chemical with a fresh blast from a new egg donor(a cousin's wife who has 2 young children). I have tried immune treatment (I have positive ANA, ACAs). From IVIG to intralipids to Lovenox to prednisone. Nothing is working. My RE thinks sperm is the issue, however we tend to get good fertilization and blasts. We have 2 PGS tested blasts from this last cycle that are frozen and they were both created using donor sperm. I am now in the dilemma of trying one with donor sperm in me to see if that makes a difference, or going right to a surrogate. We are broke and exhausted. I can empathize with you deeply.

  4. I am so sorry for your losses. Yes it has been an emotional, exhausting and financially draining 6 yrs. I always wondered if sperm was the issue for us also since that was the one thing that was the same in all my miscarriages, even with donor egg. We also had excellent quality embryos and only one was PGS abnormal (error from the egg). Yet I have read that some errors only show up on a mitochondrial level. I am positive that you get your take home baby with donor sperm. Please let me know the outcome. I will be thinking positive thoughts for you lady!

I am still waiting for my clinic to get back to me regarding letting us try donated embryos.

  5. Hi Chantal! Wow, I am just seeing your reply now. Thanks for responding. I am talking with my egg donor about traditional surrogacy. Our clinic is considering this provided we have a sound legal contract in place. However there is still a little voice in my head that is saying I need to transfer one myself (first time to try a donor egg embryo that was made with donor sperm). Surrogacy is just so expensive and very emotionally draining too. I will check in with you a little later. Would love to report a successful pregnancy. I hope your clinic can give you some good news re: donor embryo option. Hugs.
